One Nation One Ration Card is an ambitious effort by the Department of Food and Distribution in association with the State and Union Territories Governments to achieve nationwide
portability of the benefits under the NFSA. The plan aims to benefit the numerous migrant beneficiaries who change their place of dwelling across the country frequently in search of
temporary employment or for other reasons. Due to migration, they eventually get deprived of their food security benefits. Migrants can now avail their foodgrain entitlements from any
FPS in the country using their existing ration card or Aadhaar card number. Additionally, this helps close gaps around bogus identities and reduces leakages.
In Puducherry, the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs enables the cash transfers for food subsidies through DBT mode for NFSA beneficiaries every month. Beneficiaries receive the cash transfer directly in their bank accounts. Being Puducherry UT is following Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the enrolled migrant worker will receive the equivalent amount through DBT mode directly credited in their Aadhaar linked Bank Account. The system also allows their family members back home, if any, to claim the balance foodgrains on same the ration card
Through this scheme, the migrant workers will get the Amount through DBT for the eligible food grains. The migrant workers and their families can access the issue of foodgrain benefits anywhere in the country. There is no need to share or carry the ration card or Aadhaar card with Department to avail this benefit.
How to Apply?
Migrant Beneficiary shall visit the nearest Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Govt. of Puducherry UT or the Special Camps conducted by the Department. The migrant workers will be identified based on Aadhaar authentication with fingerprints and gets enrolled.
Application Process
Once the migrant workers are enrolled, the details will be sent for validation for DBT Payment. Up on approval the payment will be made through DBT with Aadhaar linked Bank Account.
The system will provide the search feature to know the details of Migrant Workers and payment details.
